Compare Card Makers is a guide for people who want to make cards: custom trading cards, playing card decks, tabletop card games and booster packs. We compare design tools, printers and print-on-demand services side by side, so you can pick the right one for your project without opening twenty tabs.
Who writes here
Benjamin Astor has worked in the card manufacturing industry for more than 13 years. He follows how collector demand and new product formats are changing the market, how creators and brands sell cards online, and how print technology, from card stocks and foil finishes to on-demand production, changes what’s possible.
On Compare Card Makers, he writes plain-English guides and comparisons for trading card, playing card and tabletop game creators. See all articles by Benjamin.
What we cover
- Trading Cards: card sizes, finishes, foils, booster packs and how collectors buy.
- Card Games: prototyping, printing and selling tabletop and trading card games.
- Comparisons: side-by-side looks at card makers, design tools and print services.
How we compare
Every comparison follows the same rules:
- Official sources first. We check each provider’s own website, pricing pages and policies, and we link to them so you can check them too.
- Dated checks. Prices, features and policies change. Each article says when we last checked them.
- “Not listed” means not listed. If we can’t find a feature on a provider’s main pages, we say so. That doesn’t mean they don’t offer it, so ask them directly.
- Several options, not one. Different projects suit different services. We show a range of options and explain which kind of project each one fits.
- IP comes first. We don’t help anyone copy or sell cards they don’t own the rights to. Where a topic touches on proxies or fan art, we explain what the rules actually say.
Partnerships
Some of the providers we compare are commercial partners of this site. Where an article includes a partner, we say so in that article.
Corrections
If you spot a wrong price, an outdated feature or a broken link, please tell us. We check every report against the provider’s current pages and update the article when it’s wrong.
